After an eventful weekend at Summit Motorsports Park for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, the team was unable to make any qualifying runs due to the weather conditions. Mother Nature did not allow us to get down the race track. However, we were able to spend some extra time with the fans by distributing our sponsor’s promotional material and fans getting photos of themselves in the race car. There were several families which thanked us for our hospitality towards their family. HM Motorsports success is due to our dedicated sponsors, teamwork, and never-ending desire to win. The 97 ford probe gain some extra hp compared to last year. This is going to be a fast season. The Team over powered the track during first qualifying pass. After reviewing the data the team decided to take some power away to make a clean pass down the racetrack. We were able to collect some valuable data to compare last year’s horsepower to this year with great improvements. Howard fell a little short first round when the car spun the tires down track which slowed down the Top Sportsman Ford Probe. The team is eager to get back in action at our next race. HM Motorsports will be heading to Summit Motorsports Park for the next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, May 13-15 "Shirts will be available by the end of the week" With a power level target of allot of horses. This is our goal to make as much power on motor then use the NOS when applicable. While simultaneously keeping the engine tractable enough to run on motor or NOS because on motor is where this engine will be doing business. Home will be beneath the hood of a '97 Ford Probe soon. Special thanks to Chris Holbrook as they assist the HM Motorsports team in tuning the 632 BBF for the 2011 race season. Howard was having a hard time watching the pulls on the dyno. HM Motorsports made it to the semi-finals on Saturday during the 2 Day Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour, North Stars Division 3, in New Alexandria, Penn. First round was a nail bitter, with our reaction time .004 and running dead on the dial to barely catch the win light. Then Howard fought his way to the semi-finals. He had a .020 reaction time and ran dead on the dial, but lost the finish line strip by inches. The competition was fierce all weekend long, but HM Motorsports fought to obtain the semi-final victory. Sunday’s race was a continue fight. The car was still running the same numbers and it was going to be a race to the finish line. First round the car ran on the dial with .003 to capture the win. Second round lost a tight race, when the Ford Probe decided to make too much power by breaking out. The ‘97 Ford Probe made several passes all weekend within .01 of our dial-in. This is a testimonial to the quality parts our sponsors supply. A special thanks to all of the fans/crew/supporters. HM Motorsports was in the finals during the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour. This was a close race lost by inches, but Howard was glad to obtain the runner-up title. Sunday’s race was a capture of what was happening all weekend. This type of racing is the manner of winning/losing the race at the finish line by inches. The ‘97 Ford Probe made several passes within .01 all weekend. The ‘97 Ford Probe worked perfectly, which is a testament to the HM Motorsports Team’s work ethic and preparation. HM Motorsports is focused on innovation and teamwork, the team contributes our success to our loyal support sponsors. There is just one big race to have the opportunity to race for the final spots for the “Top 20” for IHRA. HM Motorsports finished 1st in IHRA Top Sportsman last year in his division and this year was in the top 6th positions. The top 3 positions in each IHRA division get the opportunity to race in Rockingham for the “Top 20” positions. HM Motorsports fell short by one round of racing which would qualify the team to be a part of the “Top 20” in Rockingham. This has been a great season promoting and advertising for our sponsors. HM Motorsports would like to thank Race fans, Sponsors, Crew, Racers, and Family for your generous support and we look forward to a prosperous 2010 race season. As the Crew and Kids say "Never Give Up" HM Motorsports gives St. Charles Catholic School a taste of what is like to go over 190 mph during an open house event. The team missed Fridays race due to prior commitments, but aggressively race to make up ground on Saturday. The Team got down to 5 cars on Saturday. We are heading to Osceola for the final point’s race for Division 5. The Team needs to win on Saturday... HM Motorsports is off to the harsh weather in Florida. The team made one qualifying run on Friday and two on Saturday. They were in 12th position on the qualifying sheet. Tack conditions kept changing all weekend. After a long weekend the team lost an extremely close race. Both drivers caught outstanding lights, .005 for Dave Lyon and .004 for Howard Michael. Howard fell short at the end of the race track running too fast. Howard’s’ Ford Probe ran 7:854 on a 7:86 dial. “Broke out by 0.004” The team would like to thank all of their sponsors and fans for there support. We will see you at our next event. HM Motorsports' 2008 season has come to a close. With your support, we had an awesome season! The Season racing highlights included three finals and winning the IHRA Division 5 championships. This year, teamwork was truly defined: from the crew working long hours to ensure the car is race-ready, to you as valuable sponsors/fans supplying us with parts/support to get the job done. One person cannot win a championship; it takes teamwork, and we truly appreciate your support. On November 15, 2008, we will be at the IHRA banquet in Cincinnati, Ohio to accept our awards. We hope to see you there. Also, we will be in attendance at the PRI show in December. Wow!!! After racing at US 131 in Martin, Mi, the team goes to the Finals again at Quaker City Raceway Park. In Saturday’s event, HM Motorsports got down to the semi-finals. Then on Sundays race, the driver was doing some excellent driving, averaging reaction times was 0.010 driving both ends of the track. In the finals, we lost the race by -0.006 at the finish line. This makes for three final rounds this year. The team would like to thank everyone for their time and efforts over the pass two months in getting the car ready for the next race when it didn't seem possible. Especially to the crew cheif who has spent several days and nights out in the shop. It is with that dedication to our sponsors/fans/team that strives Howard to do his job in the driver seat, and get the team into the Winners Circle! I cannot believe it’s the middle of the season. HM Motorsports is in the finals after 2 months of mechanical issues. The team is in a come back mode! The team received Runner-Up at US 131 point’s meet of IHRA Division 3/5 in Michigan! Point Standing: HM Motorsports is currently in NHRA 2nd place. The first race and HM Motorsports is in the finals. The 2008 race season is off to a great start! The team received Runner-Up at the first point’s meet of NHRA Division 3 down in Florida! The first qualifying pass, the high horsepower Probe got up on the tire too quick and made a hard right turn. The crew chief decided to take some power out of the car and not over power the track conditions. The second qualifying was cancelled due to high winds. The third qualifying run was perfect, running a 7:64 @ 176 mph. First round, HM Motorsports received the Bounty Hunter Money for taken out the #1 qualifier. First round on Saturday the temperatures were close to 80 degrees, and Sunday morning the temperatures dip into the 60's. Good thing for the superior product our sponsors provided for HM Motorsports to give us and edge over the competition. HM Motorsports got down to 3 cars and suffered a little front end damage. Excellent job and great season for the team! The Canadian Nationals got into a rain delay pushing the race to Monday. Then the decision was made to race 1/8 mile instead of 1/4 mile. It changed our game plan, but it was not a challenge that would slow down the team. Howard qualified number 21 out of 48 cars in the field. HM Motorsports fought their way through the field and got down to 5 cars. Is HM Motorsports going bracket racing? There were over 600 cars in the field at Norwalk’s 10 Grand National. Howard and the team got down to 24 cars then could not make the call for the next round. Racing at this style of a race is good experience for the team to keep them ahead of the competition.
